Strengthen the partnership between the NARS-NGO-Private Sectors  CIMMYT and US Universities to achieve the goal for food security through wheat, maize and papaya production improvement saving scarce natural resources and for better human nutrition.
	Assist wheat, maize and papaya breeding and production programs in the Wheat Research Center and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. Assist the Wheat Research Center, Horticulture Research Center and Plant Breeding Division of BARI under the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council in its efforts to increase productivity of wheat, maize and papaya in Bangladesh.
	Improve the rice-wheat system research activities of Bangladesh and the subcontinent.
	Offer leadership in assessment of the impacts of arsenic contamination on food security in Bangladesh.
	Build human capacity in Bangladesh to address food security issues in the targeted program areas.
	Assist Government of Bangladesh in policy where appropriate for agricultural sectors to sustain self-sufficiency of food production.
